Catherine Dale is a PhD student at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where she is studying the causes and consequences of partial migration in Okanagan Valley western bluebirds. Her research interests include the links between animal migration and personality. Her research goals include doing fieldwork in as many amazing places as possible (much to the consternation of the academic supervisors paying for it).

She is also very interested in outreach and science communication, and is a co-founder of and regular contributor to Dispatches from the Field, an outreach blog focused on fieldwork experiences.
