Dr. Barry MacEachern graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 1998. He has worked in small animal practice since that time, doing both regular day practice as well as emergency medicine. He started volunteering with Hope for Wildlife over 10 years ago and is the society’s chief veterinarian. He is also featured on the Oasis HD channel's Hope for Wildlife TV show.
Recently Dr. Barry opened his own veterinary clinic called Burnside Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Barry is kept busy with running his own practice, volunteering his time to treat Nova Scotia’s wildlife and spending time with his husband Dave and their two dogs.
