Leigh Gustafson joined the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in fall 2016 as a co-op student from the University of Prince Edward Island. In 2017, she continued her work with NCC as a conservation intern in PEI. Leigh returned to work with NCC’s national conservation engagement team in January 2019 to help develop the Nature Destinations program.

Leigh will soon be saying goodbye to PEI and returning to her hometown of Ottawa to complete her master’s in environmental sustainability at the University of Ottawa. While she’ll be exchanging red sand beaches for Great Lakes–St. Lawrence forests, her love for plants, growing her own food and curling will be carried with her wherever she goes.
