Lily Vuong became a part of the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) team as a conservation technician intern in May 2018 and in 2020. Growing up in Mississauga, Lily was constantly looking for an excuse to leave the big city to immerse herself in the natural environment that surrounded her. With her interest in how humans interact with the environment, she found herself enrolled in the ecosystem management program at Sir Sandford Fleming College. Through this program, she was able to learn alongside like-minded people and gain tons of hands-on experience working for Kawartha Conservation, the Kushog Lake Property Owners Association and General Motors Canada to prepare herself for her role at NCC. Lily holds a BSc in environmental and resource science from Trent University and an Advanced Diploma in ecosystem management technology from Fleming College.
