Sydney is a former assistant conservation biologist working primarily in the Riding Mountain Natural Area of Manitoba. She holds an honours degree in biology, with a focus on lichen community characteristics, and a master’s in environmental studies from Dalhousie University.

Sydney is a multi-faceted biologist, having worked on projects from urban forest inventories in Nova Scotia to wildlife surveys on the American Prairie Reserve in Montana. An avid canoeist, Sydney has led trips up to six weeks in length on rivers such as the mighty Berens. In her spare time, you can find her contemplatively completing a crossword while listening to CBC.
