Janet Astle

Janet Astle is one of the Nature Conservancy of Canada's (NCC's) extraordinary volunteers in Alberta. In 2008, her first year of volunteering, Janet and her husband participated in five events. She has now attended more than 30 events, and during the winter she volunteers in the Calgary office one day per week.

"NCC helps the environment, which directly aligns with my personal values," said Janet.

Janet has a particular interest in wildflowers, and is keen to learn about species that are not generally found around Calgary, where she lives. Conservation Volunteers events held around the province in places like Waterton and the Crowsnest Pass have given her this opportunity.

We would like to thank Janet and all of the volunteers who participate in our Conservation Volunteers events in Alberta. These events help NCC conduct valuable stewardship activities that our staff could not possibly accomplish without further financial resources. Thank you for all your hard work!
