The unmistakable scent of sagebrush. The sweet songs of sparrows. A stunning vista that stretches as far as the eye can see. Join the Nature Conservancy of Canada's Barb Pryce and Sheena Briggs, along with birders Andrew and Gail Harcombe, at the Sage and Sparrow Conservation Area to experience a landscape of rolling sagebrush hills that host an abundance of bird species, including at least seven sparrow species.
Located southwest of Osoyoos, these lands sit in the heart of a crucial migration corridor for species moving between the desert areas of the western United States and the dry grasslands of interior BC.
Please be prepared for an adventure on rough roads. You will need a 4×4 vehicle that you are comfortable driving through some sections of road that are narrow and overgrown with brush.
This tour is part of the Meadowlark Nature Festival. Visit the festival website for more information and to register for events.
