Steven Anderson

Assistant Conservation Biologist

Steven Anderson joined the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in the fall of 2018 as the natural area conservation planner in the Manitoba Region and is now the conservation operations program coordinator. He grew up on a small family farm in southwestern Manitoba, where his love of wildflowers first began.

Steven completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Manitoba. His undergraduate thesis compared the pollination biology of the small white lady’s-slipper and yellow lady’s-slipper in Manitoba. His master’s thesis built upon this work to compare the pollination rates and co-flowering interactions of the small-white lady’s-slipper across its western latitudinal range.

Steven has a passion for all things nature and data, and he is very enthusiastic about his work at NCC. He is excited to apply his knowledge and skills to the conservation of natural areas within Manitoba.
