With the support of the W. Garfield Weston Foundation and the Government of Manitoba, the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) purchased a 160-acre (65-hectare) property containing a two-storey house to add to its holdings in Manitoba's endangered Tall Grass Prairie. Work is presently underway to convert the house and surrounding grounds into The Weston Family Tall Grass Prairie Interpretive Centre, which will accommodate both a learning centre and the headquarters for NCC's Tall Grass Prairie stewardship work.

The facility is being developed with support from The W. Garfield Weston Foundation and private supporters C. Jean Britton and Ransom Slack. It will include hands-on, interactive exhibits and displays about the Tall Grass Prairie, as well as a gift shop, classroom and meeting space, and an observation deck on the second floor.

NCC is restoring the grounds surrounding the house to a more natural state, and is developing a native wildflower garden, picnic shelter and interpretive hiking trails. Once completed, the centre will be open to the visiting public for approximately three months of the year, and for school and group programs and pre-arranged tours from May to October.
