Support local conservation on Giving Tuesday

Winnipeg, Manitoba

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is inviting nature lovers to kick off the “giving season” on Giving Tuesday with a donation in support of wildlife and local land conservation. Tuesday, November 28 marks the fifth annual Giving Tuesday, an international event organized by charities as an alternative to the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday online shopping.

Online donations to the Nature Conservancy of Canada on November 28 will go to local conservation projects.

In Manitoba, Giving Tuesday donors can support NCC’s goal to protect at least 100,000 acres (40,469 hectares) within NCC Manitoba’s nine natural areas.

“Getting involved in Giving Tuesday is about getting into the true spirit of the holiday season; it can be a time to give back to nature with an donation to NCC’s conservation projects in Manitoba”, says Jeff Polakoff, Manitoba’s regional vice-president. “With the help of companies and individual donors, the Nature Conservancy of Canada hopes to finalize important projects that provide crucial habitat for wildlife. A gift for present and future generations."
