Since 1995, Environment Canada's EcoAction Community Funding Program has provided financial support to community-based, non-profit organizations. Funding is available for projects that have measurable, positive impacts on the environment.

The program encourages action-focused projects that will protect, rehabilitate or enhance the natural environment. It also aims to help build the capacity of communities to sustain these activities into the future.

Support from Environment Canada's EcoAction Community Funding Program is helping the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) expand our outreach programming across southern Manitoba. This programming engages all ages to participate in on-the-ground stewardship and conservation activities. As a result, Environment Canada's funding is directly helping NCC conserve and steward Manitoba's natural areas. In addition, the funding provides opportunities for NCC to expand conservation knowledge across the province.
