Megan Lafferty

Megan Lafferty is the program director for the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC). Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Megan spent her summers at camp in Northern Ontario, where she developed her love of nature and later worked for many years, sharing her passion for the great outdoors with kids of all ages. After earning an honours bachelors of science degree from the University of Toronto, Megan headed east to Newfoundland and Labrador in pursuit of new adventures, including a master's of environmental science at Memorial University, which she completed in 2013.

Before joining NCC, Megan worked as a junior research and business development officer with Newfoundland and Labrador's waste diversion and recycling agency and as a coordinator with a non-profit science outreach organization. While not originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, Megan couldn’t be happier to be working with NCC to conserve the beautiful and rugged landscapes that she now calls home. In her spare time, Megan can be found hiking, knitting, running and singing (though not at the same time).
