The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is thrilled to announce our lineup for the 2018 Conservation Volunteers season! All are welcome, and no special skills are required. With the first event just around the corner, we hope you will feel inspired to join in on one or more of these events:

June 9, Crabbes River Restoration Planting
Join NCC as we plant native trees to restore a buffer between the Crabbes River and a former agricultural field. As the trees grow, they will return the area to its natural state while also helping stabilize the banks and filter water running into the river. Meeting point: St. Fintan's

June 16, Torbay Gully Bird Survey
NCC is hosting a bird count in the Torbay Gully to identify as many species as we can in this beautiful urban wetland. This event is open to both experienced and novice birders, and is a great opportunity for beginners to get some hands-on tips! The day will begin early to observe birds when they're most active. Meeting point: Torbay

September 15, Sandy Point Beach Sweep
Come help NCC clean up the beaches of the beautiful Sandy Point Nature Reserve! Volunteers will enjoy a boat ride to Sandy Point, where they will spend the day collecting and removing plastics and marine debris. Meeting point: St. George's

September 22, Codroy Valley Fall Bird Survey
Birders of all levels are invited to help survey for birds in the stunning Grand Codroy Estuary! This estuary has not one, but two, internationally recognized Important Bird Areas, with over 100 species of birds identified in the Codroy. This is a great opportunity for novice birders, as the event will start off with an introduction to birding presentation. Meeting point: Carmanville
