Scotiabank has been supporting the work of the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) for over 20 years, helping to sustain a variety of programs. This partnership grew stronger in 2010 with Scotiabank’s $75,000 donation to NCC’s Deep Cove project in Nova Scotia.
In 2012, NCC was featured as one of 18 charities in Scotiabank’s Richness Project, a campaign that invited Canadians to share their special life moments through photo or video clips. For each submission, the contributor was invited to direct $1 of Scotiabank’s giving to one of these 18 charities, NCC included.
Most recently, Scotiabank announced their EcoLiving Auto Loan program, which offers Canadians competitive loan pricing on an array of eco-friendly automobiles. To kick-start this partnership, Scotiabank made a $25,000 donation to NCC and has pledged to donate $10 for each loan booked under the new program. Thus far, the partnership has resulted in more than $50,000 for NCC’s Conservation Volunteers, a program that invites the Canadian public to join NCC conservation staff in day-long events on our properties across Canada. In 2014, over 2,400 Conservation Volunteers provided more than 13,000 hours of work across 230 conservation projects, coast to coast.
The support of partners like Scotiabank is vital to NCC’s conservation work; we could not accomplish our mission without them.
