Hannah and Hilary hail from Truro, Nova Scotia and Brantford, Ontario. They first crossed paths as field assistants, then honours students, in professor Diana Hamilton’s mudflat ecology lab at Mount Allison University.

After graduating, both could think of no better way to spend the summer than becoming shorebird interpreters at the Nature Conservancy of Canada's Johnson’s Mills Shorebird Reserve, to return to the site of many research adventures!
