Katelyn grew up in Stony Plain, Alberta and gained an appreciation for nature through numerous childhood camping trips. A strong connection to nature inspired her to earn a degree in environmental conservation sciences through the University of Alberta.

During her academic career, she became passionate about habitat conservation and preserving Canada's natural landscapes. After graduation, Katelyn earned an internship position with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) which ultimately led to a full-time position as the natural area manager of northwest Alberta.

Katelyn enjoys working for NCC because it fuels her passion for conservation and allows her to contribute to making a difference in Alberta.
