Natural Area Manager - NE Alberta
Nature Conservancy of Canada
Delaney is the natural area manager for Northeast Alberta, which includes the Cooking Lake Moraine Natural Area and Beaver Hills Biosphere. She has worked for the Nature Conservancy of Canada for nearly two years now, first as the acting natural area manager for central Alberta, then moving a little further north to be the natural area manager for northeast Alberta. Delaney graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelors of science in environmental and conservation sciences/conservation biology.
Since she was young, Delaney has always had a passion for the conservation and stewardship of wild spaces, especially in Alberta, her own backyard. She spends most of her time outside with her family, whether it's camping in the Rocky Mountains of BC and Alberta or exploring the native prairies in southwestern Saskatchewan at her grandparent’s farm.
As a young professional, Delaney believes that in order to accomplish conservation goals it is very important to partner with others and create strong relationships in the community.
Her favourite plants include prairie crocus and giant blue hyssop. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dog, photography, cooking/baking, crafting, camping, fishing, hiking and really anything to do with spending time outside!
