Louie Porta has lived, worked and travelled extensively across the North American Arctic.

He is presently the vice-president of operations and projects for Oceans North. Louie has been nominated to represent Canada in national environmental, educational, social and economic policy development processes. He is an Arctic science and climate policy expert, with expertise in oil and gas development, northern transportation, commercial fishing and Indigenous governance systems. He has a proven track record of designing, leading and executing public advocacy campaigns that deliver world-class conservation results.

Louie lives in Halifax with his wife and three children.
