Raphaël Goulet graduated with a Master's degree in Biology from McGill University and worked for three years with the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, under the programme of work on marine and coastal biodiversity. He then joined the Nunavik Marine Region Wildlife Board, an institution based in Northern Québec administered by Inuit communities and under federal jurisdiction. Raphaël is now an executive at the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq) (society of outdoor recreation establishments of Québec), working as the conservation and research service officer at Oka National Park. He also sits on the executive committee of the Conseil des bassins versants des Mille-Îles (COBAMIL) (Thousand Islands watershed council) and is a director on the Conseil régional de l'environnement des Laurentides (Laurentian regional environmental council).
