Golden Ranches, AB

9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m

Join us and be part of the stewardship of a multi-year restoration project! Volunteers will be tasked with hand pulling common tansy, common toadflax and white cockle to assist with controlling the invasive species on the Golden Ranches restoration site. In partnership with Project Forest, 110,000 seedlings were planted on a 55-hectare area of Golden Ranches in the fall of 2021 and June 2022 to mimic dry mixed wood boreal forest habitat.

Invasive species management is one of the most important management actions when maintaining a restoration site because invasive species can outcompete the native vegetation planted on the site. Your participation hand pulling invasive species will help NCC immensely with the management of this site!
