Thistle Be the One
July 24, 2025Edmonton, AB
Bunchberry Meadows Conservation Area (detailed directions given after registration)
9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Bunchberry Meadows is located just west of Edmonton and is home to a variety of plant species, including goldenrod, yarrow and bluebell. Since these native species are often in competition with invasive weeds, it is up to us to help remove their competitors. We will be targeting and removing creeping thistle, which will be dug up, bagged and taken off the property. Pulling invasive plants encourages biodiversity and provides us with an opportunity to make a positive change, all while honing our identification skills and educating ourselves about the land.
