Fire information for BC conservation areas
Updated: September 15, 2021
With numerous wildfires burning across British Columbia, the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of the public, our staff and contractors who visit our conservation lands. This includes closing access to conservation areas in wildfire-affected areas.
Wildfire control and protection is the responsibility of the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), and NCC works closely with BCWS to monitor and manage any fire activity that occurs on NCC-owned conservation lands.
NCC encourages everyone travelling around the province to please be vigilant with all ignition sources and respect any closures that may be imposed due to wildfires or fire danger.
As of September 15, all publicly accessible NCC conservation areas in BC are once again open.
To report a wildfire, call 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 from a cell phone.
For current wildfire information in BC, visit the provincial wildfire information page.
