Paddle for NatureAugust 27, 2021
Up for a challenge? Join us in a Paddle for Nature!
The Nature Conservancy of Canada's (NCC's) Manitoba Region is inviting you to participate in our first ever Paddle for Nature Challenge!
When we lose nature, we also lose the benefits that nature provides to people. These benefits range from carbon storage to the health benefits of spending time in nature. While reversing the loss of biodiversity remains core to NCC's mission, we know that to accelerate our efforts we need all of society to play a role.
This is why we're inviting you to be an invaluable participant in the inaugural Paddle for Nature challenge!
What is the Paddle for Nature?
A personal challenge in support of conservation in Manitoba.
Taking place between August 27 to 29, 2021, participants will register individually or as a team to commit to a personal paddling challenge (whether kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding) and raise funds for nature right here in Manitoba. The goal is to see how many kilometres participants can collectively paddle in support of conservation.
Connect with nature and get out on the water, all while fundraising for the outdoors you love!
Encourage friends, family and colleagues to help you raise funds through a personalized webpage upon registration.
Registration fee: $50
Suggested minimum fundraising goal: $250
Anyone with a paddle! Whether you are a team of colleagues, a competitive family or just looking to get out on the water, this paddle challenge is for you. The challenge can be completed through your favourite way to paddle.
You can sign up independently or as a team.
How does it work?
Step 1: Set your goals. How many kilometres do you want to paddle? How much do you want to raise?
Step 2: Register for the event – $50 registration fee
Step 3: Set up your page as an individual, team captain or member of your team.
Step 4: Connect with your peers by telling them about why you are choosing to participate in this challenge. What is your inspiration? Why is conserving nature important to you, your family and friends? Encourage them to participate or support your challenge!
Step 5: Starting Friday, August 27th, grab your hat, your sunscreen and of course your paddle and hit the water body of your choice! You keep track of your kilometres paddled and let us know at the conclusion of the event.
Be sure to keep us posted on how you’re doing throughout the weekend using the hashtag #paddle4nature and tag @NCC_CNC
