Looking for an opportunity to help restore coastal habitat? Join Ghost Gear Disappear Inc. for an afternoon of walking Miscou Island's beautiful beaches and removing lost lobster traps.

Fishing gear of all types can be found across the Atlantic Canada’s beaches. Lobster traps pose a danger and hazard to wildlife, beach travellers and contribute to the general pollution of our seaside splendour. Come join us for an afternoon in the sand returning the beaches to their natural beauty!

Participants will meet at the Tourism Bureau for a quick introduction and then head to the dune site to begin seeking out traps. Afterwards, all participants will be invited to a BBQ and social.

Ghost Gear Disappear Inc. is an organization focused on establishing customized sustainable fishing equipment for individual fishing businesses, and to prevent and reduce fishing gear lost by offering solutions for retrieval and responsible disposal of fishing gear disposal to protect and keep our shorelines clean. Ghost Gear Disappear has had an active role in conservation with its implementation of artificial reefs, fishing gear retrieval and removal, and marina habitat inspections.
