Rice Lake Plains Butterfly Count

Get to know some of the winged wonders of the rare grassland and savanna habitats of the Rice Lake Plains! Participants will meet at Hazel Bird Nature Reserve and be grouped into teams along with a knowledgeable leader and assigned a specific area of the Rice Lake Plains to survey for the count. Physical activity will include walking approximately three kilometres over uneven terrain.

Fitness	Toilet
Moderate fitness level required.	A portable toilet will be available at the meeting location for use before and after the event.

Tools	Food
All tools will be provided by NCC.	Water and snacks will be provided

Additional event details, including directions and parking instructions, will be provided after registration. Please look for three emails with event information; one will be sent immediately after registration (scroll to the bottom of the email for the participant package), a reminder will be sent one week, and then one day, before the event. No previous experience is required. This event will be rescheduled to Saturday, June 24 if conditions are rainy or windy. We will notify you at the email address and phone number you provided during registration if we need to cancel.
