Emerging Leaders Circle

The Emerging Leaders Circle is a volunteer group of young, dedicated professionals who actively support the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s (NCC’s) mission in Quebec. They promote NCC through various initiatives while helping make a positive difference in conserving Quebec's most precious natural areas for today, tomorrow and for future generations.

  • Mathew Borden

    Mathew Borden

    Mathew Borden is an associate portfolio manager at Scotia Wealth Management, and is a proud member of the Borden Weinstock Group. His primary focus revolves around managing private client assets and offering comprehensive wealth planning solutions to his high net-worth clients. However, it is the great outdoors where Mathew truly finds his passion and spends his time away from the office.

    An avid outdoorsman, Mathew enjoys skiing, horseback riding or simply enjoying nature. He was involved with environmental conservation prior to joining the NCC, through his collaboration with the Stowe Land Trust, a nature conservancy group based in Vermont. In Canada, Mathew contributes actively to the Nature Conservancy of Canada's Emerging Leaders Committee, aiming to inspire and champion the cause of nature conservation for future generations.

  • Marie de Montlaur

    Marie de Montlaur
    Senior advisor, CDPQ

    Marie de Montlaur is senior advisor at CDPQ, specializing in environmental finance and climate, and based in Montreal. She worked in forest management and investment for 10 years before joining the Sustainable Investment team at CDPQ. As part of her duties, she supports the integration of environment, social and governance (ESG) considerations in investment decisions, with a focus on risks and opportunities related to climate change and biodiversity. She is also a board member of the French Forest Owners Association.

    An engineer by training, Marie holds a specialized master's degree in the wood industry (Nancy, France), a master's program in forest sciences and business (Helsinki, Finland) and an ESG analyst diploma from the Société Française des Analystes Financiers (Paris, France).

    A lawyer by training and a nature lover at heart, Monica Dingle joined the Nature Conservancy of Canada's (NCC’s) Quebec regional board in 2016. A strong believer in the importance of spending time in nature, she and others founded the Nature Conservancy of Canada Emerging Leaders Circle in 2018 to help ensure there would be a future generation of supporters of NCC and its conservation activities.

    Nicole Dunbar is happiest in nature. Having grown up in the Canadian Rockies, the importance of safeguarding natural spaces was instilled in her early on. She is committed to conservation as the foundation for thriving, sustainable communities. When not in nature, Nicole is an associate at Dentons Canada LLP, founder of Montreal Clown and real estate investor.

    Meghan Rose leads the marketing and product development team at a home textiles company in Montreal. She has more than a decade of experience in marketing and completed her MBA at York University. Meghan is a Canada-enthusiast and enjoys exploring everything the country has to offer. As a mom, she believes it is important to invest in and conserve nature for future generations and she joined NCC’s committee to help do just that.
