Associate Director of Conservation for Ontario

Kristen Bernard is the associate director of conservation for the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in Ontario. In her role, she oversees conservation operations for Ontario’s subregional land conservation program, supporting and advising on land acquisition and management, conservation planning, and stewardship programming. Kristen has been with NCC since 2011, prior to her ADOC role, she was the Program Director for Southwestern Ontario overseeing conservation activities within strategically defined natural areas, focusing on land acquisition and stewardship, community outreach and partnership development. She has a bachelor’s degree in environment and resource studies from the University of Waterloo and a diploma in ecological restoration from Niagara College.
