RBC Foundation and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)

RBC Foundation is a registered Canadian charity, and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is Canada’s largest bank and one of the largest banks in the world based on market capitalization. Among other causes, they support community investment partners that aim to advance technology to help mitigate climate change including to help address habitat loss, conserve biodiversity, and build climate resilience.

Technology has revolutionized many aspects of our lives, including the field of conservation. As Canada’s leading private land conservation organization, NCC manages large amounts of data related to conservation planning, land securement and stewardship.

With financial support from RBC Foundation and RBC, NCC is investing in more powerful and advanced software that will allow NCC to collect, store, share, and analyze more data — and to do so more efficiently. The goal, in turn, is to improve NCC's conservation planning and outputs, allowing NCC to do more in support of conservation, and do it both faster and better. With the support of RBC Foundation and RBC, NCC aims to be able to use technology to accelerate its conservation efforts.
