RBC Tech for Nature is a multi-year commitment to new ideas, technologies and partnerships focused on protecting our shared future. That’s why they have partnered with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) to invest in the power of innovative technology.
Technology has revolutionized almost every aspect of our lives, including the field of conservation. As Canada’s largest private land conservation organization, NCC manages large amounts of data related to conservation planning, land securement and stewardship.
With funding from the RBC Foundation, NCC is investing in more powerful and advanced software that will allow NCC to collect, store, share, and analyze more data — and to do so more efficiently. This, in turn, will greatly improve NCC's conservation planning and outputs, allowing NCC to do more in support of conservation, and do it both faster and better. Through our partnership with the RBC Foundation, we will be able to use technology to affect real impact in conservation.
The RBC Foundation’s support also recognizes NCC’S Landmark Campaign, the largest private conservation fundraising campaign in Canadian history. Increasing NCC’s data capacity is essential during the Landmark Campaign, as NCC works toward the goal of adding 1.3 million hectares (3.2 million acres) of conserved land.
