Kasia Podilsky

Development Officer

Kasia Podilsky is a development officer for the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in Alberta. She works with the Leaders in Conservation program, events and donor stewardship in the Capital Region.

Kasia started with NCC in June 2021. She joined NCC because she has a passion for wildlife and the habitats they need to thrive, and she is excited that she gets to help protect and conserve those areas every single day. Coming from a position where her focus was specifically fundraising for wildlife rehabilitation, it seemed like a natural next step to broaden her scope to Alberta conservation in general to protect the areas that our wildlife call home. Also, the people at NCC are simply fantastic and she feels so lucky to have such a fun team of people to do this work with!

Kasia graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of fine arts degree in drama, specializing in technical theatre – stage management. It doesn't exactly scream conservation, but passions, interests and life experience led her down this career path using the many transferable skills she acquired with her degree.

Prior to NCC, she was the events and volunteer manager at WILDNorth Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation in Edmonton. She was privileged to work with some of the best volunteers she had ever met, and her coworkers quickly became some of her closest friends (which is great because she still gets all the VIP updates about the Very Important Patients!). It is thanks to them that she feels so at home working for conservation charities, and she is thrilled that that energy carried forward here to NCC!

Kasia enjoys hiking, camping, crafting, playing with her dogs and cats, performing with the Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company and teaching Ukrainian dance to performers of all ages.
