MH: Acting natural area manager, northwest Alberta.
NCC: What is your area of work?
NCC: Why did you join the NCC team?
MH: I started my NCC career as an intern for northeast Alberta, then spent some time working as a development assistant in Calgary. I have now switched back over to the conservation team. NCC has many opportunities to grow and learn, and the collaborative team here is a major factor as to why I am still around and happy!

MH: May 2017 as an intern.
NCC: What is your educational background?
MH: I have a bachelor of science degree in environmental and conservation science and a bachelor of commerce degree.

MH: I worked in agriculture and for Parks Canada prior to working with NCC. I also spent a year working on the development team, which gave me a nice, well-rounded understanding of NCC and how things work.
NCC: What are your hobbies when you’re not working for NCC?
MH: Hiking, kayaking and Netflix-ing.
NCC: Do you have a favourite species?
MH: Linnaeus borealis, twin flower.
