Cary Hamel

Cary Hamel is the Conservation Science Manager for the Nature Conservancy of Canada Manitoba Region, where he is responsible for ensuring that NCCs land protection, stewardship and management activities are dictated by the best available information.

A forest and prairie ecologist by training, Cary has over 20 years experience in the study of ecosystem function and biodiversity. Cary is an appointee to the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada’s Vascular Plants Species Subcommittee as well as the Province of Manitoba’s Endangered Species and Ecosystem Advisory Committee.

Cary and his family live on a very small farm near Kirkness, Manitoba.
