Amelia Barnes

Amelia Barnes is a student in the master's of environmental studies program in the School for Resource and Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Originally from Cape Breton, Amelia holds both a bachelor of science and a bachelor of education from Cape Breton University. Although a strong interest in teaching and communicating science took her to China for five years to teach at a Nova Scotia high school program, a desire to engage in research and conservation brought her back to NS and Dalhousie. Amelia in interested in biodiversity conservation, habitat connectivity, and climate change adaptations. She is the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s 2018 Dr. Bill Freedman Conservation in Science Intern.
